A disease of White Ash caused by tobacco mosaic virus

, : A disease of White Ash caused by tobacco mosaic virus. Phytopathology 63(2): 203

Ring and line-pattern mosaic symptoms were found on several trees of Fraxinus americana in Massachusetts. The virus causing these symptoms was transmitted by grafting to F. americana and F. pennsylvanica and through sap to several herbaceous species. The symptoms produced in these hosts resemble in most respects those produced by a known tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) isolate, and the size and shape of virus particle are similar to those of TMV.
