A field survey of the mites infesting stored sugar in Taiwan

, : A field survey of the mites infesting stored sugar in Taiwan. Plant Protection Bulletin, Taiwan 13(4): 147-155

A survey of the mites infesting stored sugar in Taiwan carried out in 1969-70 showed that nine species were present, of which the most abundant were Carpoglyphus lactis(L.) and Suidasia medanensis Oudm. Of the remaining species, Tyrophagus (Tyroglyphus) putrescentiae (Schr.) and T.(T.) longior (Gerv.) were present only in small numbers and five species were apparently predacious. About 70% of the samples examined contained mites.
