A method for screening Phaseolus genotypes for tolerance to low temperatures

, : A method for screening Phaseolus genotypes for tolerance to low temperatures. Journal of Horticultural Science 47(3): 279-290

In a series of growth-chamber experiments in which seeds of 9 S. and central American and 2 UK of P. vulgaris were grown at 10, 15 or 20 deg C, seedling weight was markedly affected by temperature and by seed size. On the basis of the results, a test for evaluating cold tolerance is described.
