A study of gene differences between some breeds of sheep

, : A study of gene differences between some breeds of sheep. Animal Blood Groups and Biochemical Genetics 4(3): 141-146

With 9 genetic markers of the blood (Hb, esterase, carbonic anhydrase, 5 blood-group antigens, and transferrin), genetic distances between the Merino, Rambouillet, Targhee, Columbia, Dorset Horn, Suffolk, Southdown and Navajo breeds were estimated by the method of Nei and Roychoudhury (see Science, USA 177, 434-436). The largest distance was found between the Dorset Horn and the Merino and the smallest between the Navajo and the Suffolk.
