, : Abnormal tryptophan metabolism in patients with scurvy-type skin. Biochemical Medicine 7(1): 184-189

A load of 2 g tryptophan was given by mouth to 5 South African Bantu men with a scurvy-type skin, which appears after prolonged haemosiderosis caused by a diet with a high Fe content.
