Aboveground biomass and litter in Miscanthus sinensis community

, : Aboveground biomass and litter in Miscanthus sinensis community. Ecological studies of Japanese grasslands Draft of JIBP synthesis volume: 46-55

Seasonal and annual changes in above-ground biomass and litter were measured in a Kawatabi M. sinensis community in 1968-72. Aboveground parts of plants in the community began growth in early Apr., grew rapidly from June to mid-Aug., and then more slowly until early Sept., after which values were constant. The maximum DM production was reached in early Sept. and was around 580 g/m2 in each of the 4 years.
