Abscisic acid and gibberellic acid as factors in the translocation of auxin

, : Abscisic acid and gibberellic acid as factors in the translocation of auxin. Plant and Cell Physiology 15(2): 351-361

The effects of ABA and GA on the translocation of 2,4,5-T in Phaseolus vulgaris Stringless Greenpod seedlings were determined. 14C-labelled 2,4,5-T was injected into the stem tissue at the cotyledonary node in 1- mu l amounts along with the ABA or GA. ABA enhanced 2,4,5-T translocation to the lower hypocotyl and roots and reduced the accumulation of 2,4,5-T in the young expanding shoots and primary leaves. GA promoted 2,4,5-T accumulation in young shoots.
