Abscisic Acid in relation to mineral deprivation

, : Abscisic Acid in relation to mineral deprivation. Plant Physiology 50(6): 667-670

In 45-day-old tobacco plants grown in aerated Hoagland solution, the ABA content of leaves increased continuously for 7 days after transfer to distilled water, but growth and chlorophyll content were not affected until 4 days after transfer. When aeration was stopped, the turgor of plants in distilled water was less affected than that of plants in nutrient solutions.
