Male guineapigs weighing 140 g in groups of 20 and 25 were given a normal diet or for 5 days weekly had a diet of peeled bananas alone in 2 meals of 45 g daily and for 2 days a diet of oats, carrots and fresh green feed. Male Sprague-Dawley rats in groups of 20 and 25 were given the stock diet Altromin R1310 or for 5 days weekly peeled or unpeeled bananas in 2 meals of 30 g daily and on 2 days the stock diet. The diets were given for 1084 days when all the survivors were killed.
