Absence of goitrogenic factors in soya oil produced for culinary purposes

, : Absence of goitrogenic factors in soya oil produced for culinary purposes. Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira, Serie Veterinaria 6: 87-89

For 7 months 22 rats were fed exclusively on a commercial diet, the nutrient composition of which is shown, with or without 15% soya bean oil processed for culinary use. In another experiment 40 rats had the feed with or without soya bean oil for 10 months. Macroscopical and histological examination showed that the soya bean oil had no effect on their thyroid glands and there was no sign of goitre.
