Absence of nitrifying microorganisms from a Greek forest soil

, : Absence of nitrifying microorganisms from a Greek forest soil. Soil Biology and Biochemistry 7(4/5): 335-336

Any substances present in the non-nitrifying soil that might be inhibitory to nitrification failed to reduce nitrification in a nitrifying soil when the latter was treated with non-nitrifying soil or soil extract. Liming did not increase the nitrifying ability of the non-nitrifying soil.
