Absinth, Artemisia absinthium, wilt in Piedmont and trials on its control

, : Absinth, Artemisia absinthium, wilt in Piedmont and trials on its control. Phytopathologia Mediterranea 9(2/3): 179-181

Circular zones of diseased plants were observed in absinth fields in early July. The leaflets of the infected plants became yellow, then brown and eventually their edges curled downwards. The symptoms first appeared at the base of the plant and spread upwards to all parts. Flowering was prevented or arrested. Microscopic examination of the stems revealed the presence of fungal hyphae in the vessels.
