Absorbability by rats of compounds containing from one to eight ester groups

, : Absorbability by rats of compounds containing from one to eight ester groups. Journal of Nutrition 102(9): 1171-1175

Male rats were fed on a semi-purified diet, casein VF 27, sucrose 50, salt mix USP xiv 5%, containing sufficient Ca and Mg to give optimum conditions for fat absorption, cellulose 3 and fat 15%. All necessary water-soluble vitamins were present in the diet and fat-soluble vitamins were given by mouth once weekly. At about 20 g bodyweight the rats were given freely for 7 days experimental fat mixtures.
