The absorption of this soil fungicide (F 319) by roots of cucumber, tomato and rice seedlings from nutrient solutions was rapid, and translocation to leaves occurred after 24 h. Movement was also traced from treated to untreated rootlets which exuded small amounts of the chemical. The compound was converted into 2 major metabolites: MU (3-( beta -D-glucopyranosyloxy)-5-methylisoxazole) and ML (2-( beta -D-glucopyranosyl)-5-methyl-4-isoxazolin-3-one) in roots and shoots of treated plants.
