Absorption and release of ammonia from and to the atmosphere by plants

, : Absorption and release of ammonia from and to the atmosphere by plants. Dissertation Abstracts International, B 34(6): 2404

The aerial parts of maize and soyabeans absorbed atmospheric NH3 and the absorption increased linearly with concentrations of 22, 110 and 320 mu g/m3. When given 15N-NH3, 30% of the NH3 was retained in the plants, 10% was not absorbed and 60% was not accounted for.
