Absorption and secretion in the cauda epididymidis of the rabbit and the effects of degenerating spermatozoa on epididymal plasma after castration

, : Absorption and secretion in the cauda epididymidis of the rabbit and the effects of degenerating spermatozoa on epididymal plasma after castration. Journal of Endocrinology 63(1): 157-165

Results show that the epididymis actively absorbs Na+ and Cl- ions and actively secretes glycerylphosphorylcholine, protein, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, beta -N-acetylglucosaminidase, alpha -mannosidase and acid deoxyribonuclease. Degenerating spermatozoa contribute K+ ions.
