Absorption and translocation of 2,4-DB in peanut and prickly sida

, : Absorption and translocation of 2,4-DB in peanut and prickly sida. Abstracts, 1972 Meeting of the Weed Science Society of America, St Louis: 47

The absorption and translocation of ring labelled 14C-2,4-DB was studied at 4 growth stages of groundnut and prickly sida and at 2 seed germination diurnal temps. (14-18 deg C and 22-26 deg C). 2,4-DB was applied to single leaves at 3, 5, 7 and 11 weeks after sowing. Uptake of radioactivity was very rapid in S. spinosa at all stages of growth; the label moved into shoot apices and the tips of lower lateral branches within 24 h and formative effects were observed within 3 days.
