Absorption and translocation of chlorinated hydrocarbons in tobacco

, : Absorption and translocation of chlorinated hydrocarbons in tobacco. Bulletin of the Agricultural Chemicals Inspection Station (11): 61-66

A study was made on absorption and translocation of chlorinated hydrocarbons treated soil into leaves, roots and stalks of tobacco in Japan. All of the test chlorinated hydrocarbons (four isomers of BHC, aldrin, dieldrin, o,p'-DDT, p, p'-DDT) were absorbed into tobacco plants, varying with different insecticides and in different parts of the plant. BHC and DDT were absorbed in greater amounts than aldrin and dieldrin.
