Absorption of L-leucine in different segments of the small intestine of rats depending on nutrition

, : Absorption of L-leucine in different segments of the small intestine of rats depending on nutrition. Untersuchungen zur Resorption von L Leucin in verschiedenen Dunndarmabschnitten der Ratte in Abhangigkeit von der Ernahrung: 50

Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200 to 250 g were given a high-protein diet with 73.5% protein supplied as casein with methionine or one with 11% protein. After 14 to 20 days feed was withheld for 12 h and rats were killed; everted sacs were prepared from different segments of the small intestine. In the first study the incubation medium contained L-leucine 5 mmol/litre.
