Absorption of arsenic and lead by eggplant from soil and their translocation

, : Absorption of arsenic and lead by eggplant from soil and their translocation. Bulletin of the Agricultural Chemicals Inspection Station (11): 101-105

A study was made of the distribution of arsenic and lead in eggplants (Solanum eelongena) that had been grown on soil containing definite quantities of arsenic and lead (20-30 mg/plant and 2-3 mg/plant, respectively). When the fruits matured, the plants were divided into four parts (fruit, leaf, stem and root) to be analyzed quantitatively for arsenic and lead by the GUTZEIT method and alternating current polarography, respectively. The soil was also analyzed.
