Absorption of dietary cholesterol in man

, : Absorption of dietary cholesterol in man. Metabolism 22(2): 155-163

Cholesterol absorption was studied by balance methods in 10 subjects with high blood lipids who were given diets providing 401 to 1214 and 171 to 454 mg/day of cholesterol and beta -sitosterol, respectively. The absorption was 37% plus or minus 5% and the amounts of cholesterol absorbed were 149 to 508 mg/day.
