Absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium during growth of castor (Ricinus communis L.) cultivar IAC-38

, : Absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium during growth of castor (Ricinus communis L.) cultivar IAC-38. Revista de Agricultura, Brazil 48(1): 21-30

In field trials, castor was given 80 kg N + 100 kg P2O5 + 40 kg K2O/ha with or without 800 kg dolomitic limestone/ha or was given limestone alone. Neither limestone nor NPK increased the contents of N, P, K, Ca or Mg in the plant, but NPK increased plant dry weight and limestone did not. The highest seed yield was given by NPK + limestone and in this treatment the nutrient uptake 120 days after sowing was 95.62 kg N, 3.62 kg P, 88.45 kg K, 11.27 kg Ca and 3.65 kg Mg/ha.
