, : Absorption of oestrogen implants in calves.. Recueil de Medecine Veterinaire 148(4): 451-454

In order to test the ease with which the remainders of implanted pellets can be found on slaughter, and to investigate their residual hormonal activity, 15 male calves received, in the dewlap, implants of diethyl stilboestrol, 15 male calves a combination of oestradiol and progesterone, and 15 female calves a combination of oestradiol and testosterone. Pellets were implanted 71 days before slaughter and the process was repeated 33 days later.
