During months 3 and 4 of lactation 4 goats were given a diet to meet all their requirements or the same diet but deficient in Na. After 5 to 15 days on the diet deficient in Na there were loss of appetite, diarrhoea, apathy, reduced bodyweight and reduced milk production.
