Absorption of thiamin. 2. Activity of adenosine triphosphatase and alkaline phosphatase and absorption of thiamin-35S in the digestive tract of normal broiler chickens

, : Absorption of thiamin. 2. Activity of adenosine triphosphatase and alkaline phosphatase and absorption of thiamin-35S in the digestive tract of normal broiler chickens. Zhivotnovudni Nauki 10(5): 11-17

2. Segments measuring 20 cm of duodenum, jejunum and ileum and 10 cm of crop and caecum were isolated by bilateral ligation in 11/2-month-old broiler chickens. Adenosine triphosphatase and alkaline phosphatase activity was estimated in the mucosa of the isolated segments. Thiamin-35S, 30 mu Ci/kg liveweight, was injected into the isolated loops after the birds had been fasted for 24 h; 1 h later radioactivity in venous blood was measured.
