Absorption probabilities in a finite population subject to segregation distortion

, : Absorption probabilities in a finite population subject to segregation distortion. Mathematical Biosciences 17(1/2): 65-78

This paper considers bounds for the probability of ultimate loss of mutant genes in a finite monoecious population subject to segregation distortion. The model used was that of G.A. Watterson (Theoretical Population Biology 1, 233-250). The diffusion theory result is also calculated and is shown to be in good agreement with the bounds and with Kimura's diffusion value.
