For part 1 see Abst. 3121, Vol. 40.2. Of 12 lambs 20 days old, weighing on average 8.74 kg, 6 were given by mouth 1 mg selenium dioxide in water every 2 days for 30 days. When they were 50 days old after the last dose of selenium dioxide they were given 32P or 45Ca 10 mu Ci/kg. Blood was sampled 30 min and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 24 h after the nuclide was given. The lambs were killed at 24 h and their liver, kidneys, spleen and femoral muscles were studied.
