Abundance of Hypothenemus hampei Ferr., the coffee berry borer, in relation to its food-plant and its parasite Cephalonomia stephanoderis Betrem, in the Ivory Coast

, : Abundance of Hypothenemus hampei Ferr., the coffee berry borer, in relation to its food-plant and its parasite Cephalonomia stephanoderis Betrem, in the Ivory Coast. Mededelingen Landbouwhogeschool Wageningen (16): 84

The susceptibility of three varieties of coffee (Coffea canephora) to attack by Hypothenemus hampei (Ferr.), and the relation of the Scolytid with its Bethylid predator and parasite Cephalonomia stephanoderis Betrem, were investigated in the laboratory and field in the Ivory Coast in 1970-72. Of the three varieties tested, Kouilou was less susceptible than two robusta varieties, although it had previously been considered the most susceptible.
