Pomphorhynchus yamagutii n. sp. from the small intestine of Percichthys melanops in Chile is very similar to Pomphorhynchus sebastichthydis but differs in having much stouter hooks and shorter basal hooks and in that the neck of P. sebastichthydis is about one-third the total length of the worm whereas it is about one-eighth the total length in P. yamagutii.
