Acaricide AC 84,633: first trials for control of Boophilus microplus

, : Acaricide AC 84,633: first trials for control of Boophilus microplus. Journal of Economic Entomology 67(3): 387-389

Engorged females of Boophilus microplus (Can.) were dipped for 2-5 min in concentrations of AC 84633 (4-chloro-N-1,3-dithietanylidene-2-methylbenzenamine) ranging from 3.9 to 2000 p.p.m. in laboratory tests. The females were not killed, but, when the concentrations were 500 p.p.m. or greater, over 99% of the eggs laid by females of a susceptible strain and an organophosphate-resistant strain and over 96% of those laid by females of a second organophosphate-resistant strain failed to hatch.
