Acaricides and spring treatment of bees

, : Acaricides and spring treatment of bees. Veterinariya, Moscow, USSR (6): 79-80

Changes in the degree of infestation of bees by Acarapis woodi (Rennie) at different stages of development were followed for 4 years in the Crimea. The percentage of infested bees in attacked colonies averaged 14.3 in February and 6.5 in March, the difference being attributable to death of overwintered bees soon after emergence from the hive. It was noted that the percentage of mites at different stages of development varied through the year.
