Acaropsis docta (Berlese), a predacious mite on Trogoderma granarium Everts

, : Acaropsis docta (Berlese), a predacious mite on Trogoderma granarium Everts. Indian Journal of Entomology 1972; 33(4): 457

Acaropsis docta (Berl.) was observed attacking eggs and newly hatched larvae of a laboratory strain of Trogoderma granarium Everts in India. Although the mite fed on the eggs at a rate of 1.25/day, it did not attack young larvae with long hairs. Each female mite laid 12-16 eggs/day in a web (0.02 mm2 in area) and a total of 103 eggs in 7-8 days.
