Accelerated aging: residual weight and flexural properties of wood heated in air at 115 deg to 175 deg C


, : Accelerated aging: residual weight and flexural properties of wood heated in air at 115 deg to 175 deg C. Wood Science 4(4): 193-201

The loss in weight, modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity in bending were determined on small clear wood specimens of six North American species after heating in air to 115 deg , 135 deg , 155 deg and 175 deg C for periods from 1 to 255 days. The results are presented in tables and graphs. The rate of change in property with temperature generally followed the Arrhenius-type equation.
