Accelerated discharge of paraventricular neurosecretory cells correlated with reflex release of oxytocin during suckling

, : Accelerated discharge of paraventricular neurosecretory cells correlated with reflex release of oxytocin during suckling. Journal of Physiology 222(1): 23p-24p

This study with rats, reported only briefly here, provides direct support for the concept that spike activity of paraventricular (PV) neurosecretory cells controls the release of oxytocin from the neurohypophysis.
