Acceleration of filbert nut drop by (2-chloroethyl) phosphonic acid

, : Acceleration of filbert nut drop by (2-chloroethyl) phosphonic acid. Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science 97(6): 738-740

Ethephon at 750-1000 p.p.m. accelerated nut drop by 2-3 weeks without causing excessive premature leaf fall, reduction in nut quality, or plant injury. When ethephon was applied at 100 or 300 gal/acre in air-blast sprays at 250, 500 and 750 p.p.m. responses were found to be a function of concentration regardless of the total amount of material applied.
