150 Soviet Mohair (SM) and 100 Karachaev does were mated with SM bucks, and 50 Karachaev does with Karachaev bucks. In female progeny from the 3 types of mating resp., birth weight averaged 2.6, 3.2 and 3.3 kg, and body weight 15.4, 16.4 and 17.7 kg at 1 yr of age and 25.1, 29.7 and 31.7 kg at 11/2 yr.
