C. quadrivalvis (Tetraclinis articulata), a native of N. Africa, was first planted in Israel ca. 1912. A recent survey showed its ability to survive in various parts of the country in various climatic and edaphic conditions, and its further use is recommended, particularly in areas where other conifers are unsuccessful.
