Accumulation and movement of mirex in selected estuaries of South Carolina, 1969-71

, : Accumulation and movement of mirex in selected estuaries of South Carolina, 1969-71. Pesticides Monitoring Journal 7(1): 6-26

In conjunction with a programme for the eradication of solenopsis richteri Forel (Saevissima richteri), in which mirex was applied from aircraft to coastal areas near Charleston, South Carolina, field studies were carried out to monitor the movement and accumulation of mirex in the estuarine system. The data collected, which is shown in detail in tables, showed that all the animal classes sampled contained mirex and that the pesticide accumulated in predators such as racoons and birds.
