Accumulation and redistribution pattern of nitrogen and dry matter in dwarf wheat as influenced by soil moisture and nitrogen fertilization

, : Accumulation and redistribution pattern of nitrogen and dry matter in dwarf wheat as influenced by soil moisture and nitrogen fertilization. Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 43(5): 486-492

In field trials in 1968-70, N uptake and DM accumulation by different plant parts of 2 dwarf wheat cultivars grown under different levels of soil moisture and N were determined. The DM accumulation and N uptake were significantly higher in Sonalika than in Kalyan Sona; applied N increased both DM production and N uptake. plants given low rates of N accumulated a greater proportion of their total N uptake in the early growth stages than those given high rates of N.
