The influence of lecithin and several specific metabolic inhibitors on accumulation of 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T by parenchyma tissue was studied in potato tuber discs. Treatments with carbonyl-cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone, an inhibitor of oxidative phosphorylation, and N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, an inhibitor of membrane-bound ATP, showed that 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T accumulation were independent of available energy as influenced by these metabolic inhibitors.
