Accumulation of putrescine and related amino acids in potassium deficient Sesamum

, : Accumulation of putrescine and related amino acids in potassium deficient Sesamum. Phytochemistry 13(12): 2659-2665

Sesame was grown in complete or K-deficient nutrient solution and amino acid, amine, N and K contents of leaves were determined at weekly intervals. The incorporation of U-14C-L-arginine into protein was also followed. The interconversions of the amino acids of the ornithine-urea cycle, and their contribution to the formation of amines, were studied in cell-free extracts and intact leaves using labelled amino acids.
