Accumulation, transport and efflux of Cl-, SO4-- and K+ in excised maize roots

, : Accumulation, transport and efflux of Cl-, SO4-- and K+ in excised maize roots. Zeitschrift fur Pflanzenphysiologie 69(4): 318-328

In contrast to the efflux of Cl and SO4, only 30-40% of the K+-tracer (86Rb+) leaving the root passed to the solution through the stele (8-23 h). Effects of salt concentration on nonspecific passive efflux across the plasmalemma were similar to salt effects on the conductivity of negatively charged phospholipid films. There was an additional specific effect of anions on anion efflux.
