Accuracy of standing-tree volume estimates based on McClure mirror caliper measurements

, : Accuracy of standing-tree volume estimates based on McClure mirror caliper measurements. USDA Forest Service Research Note, Southeastern Forest Experiment Station (SE-152): 4

Estimates of the total volume of 25 trees (three species of Pine and two of Oak, of various form and size) in an Oak/Pine stand in Florida, obtained from independent measurements by two workers with an optical caliper and sectional aluminium poles were within 2.1% of the values calculated from measurements on the felled trees.
