Accuracy of tree ring dating of Bristlecone Pine for calibration of the radiocarbon time scale

, : Accuracy of tree ring dating of Bristlecone Pine for calibration of the radiocarbon time scale. Journal of Geophysical Research 78(36): 8849-8858

As part of a study to trace the retreat of the upper tree line on Campito Mt., in the White Mts. of eastern California, over the past several thousand years wood specimens from living trees, logs and weathered remnants of Pinus longaeva were examined, and an independent tree-ring chronology was developed that provides a basis for testing the accuracy of dendrochronological calibration of the C14 time scale.
