Acetylation of wood with the aid of 'anhydron' as a catalyst

, : Acetylation of wood with the aid of 'anhydron' as a catalyst. Latvijas Lauksaimniecibas Akademijas Raksti (65): 47-50

Pieces of Scots Pine sapwood were acetylated with acetic anhydride alone or in the presence of the catalyst 'anhydron', i.e. Mg(Cl04)2. Acetylation was possible without a catalyst, but 'anhydron' proved to be a highly effective catalyst.
