An outbreak of the house mosquito, Culex pipiens pallens, due probably to water pollution, with a note on the control measures

, : An outbreak of the house mosquito, Culex pipiens pallens, due probably to water pollution, with a note on the control measures. Japanese Journal of Sanitary Zoology 23(1): 23-33

Mosquitos became unusually numerous and troublesome in the late spring of 1968 in a suburb of Kagamigahara City in central Japan. Investigations showed that a pool receiving wastes from starch and wool factories was the main breeding site of the mosquitos and that Culex pipiens pallens Coq. accounted for more than 90% of the larvae and adults present.
