, : Anemia in an urban population of West Pakistan. A study of folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency. Pakistan Journal of Medical Research 11(1/2): 16-25

Haematological data from 34 male anaemic Pakistanis with no obvious cause for anaemia and from 38 control subjects are presented. Of the patients 27 had normoblastic erythropoiesis and in the 23 examined serum Fe and transferrin saturation were below the control values. Low serum folacin was common and although all had serum vitamin B-12 values regarded as normal, 34 had less than 120 pg/ml.
