Apoidea visiting flowers of some fruit trees and blackcurrant

, : Apoidea visiting flowers of some fruit trees and blackcurrant. Polskie Pismo Entomologiczne 42(2): 491-506

Apis mellifera was the most common species found on flowering apple and cherry and also, though in slightly smaller numbers, on plum and pear. They foraged mainly for nectar on apple blossom and for pollen on the other 3 trees. A worker collecting pollen spent the same time on a flower as one foraging for nectar, but a bee collecting both pollen and nectar spent longer.
