, : Chromosome number in pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.). Journal of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science 38(4): 305-306

95 pigeon pea introductions from 11 different countries ranged in height from 71 to 345 cm and had 7-44 primary branches at 50% flowering. Such took 70-215 days to 50% flowering, yielded 3.79-31.69 t seed/ha, had 100-seed weights of 6.275-15.472 g, produced 1.05-7.62 t dry seed/ha year and 2.62-6.4 seeds/pod, had a seed:pod ratio of 1.14-2.98, contained 3.02-4.25% N in the seed and varied significantly in seed-coat colour and the degree of hard seededness.
