Codling moth: influence of temperature and daylight intensity on periodicity of daily flight in the field

, : Codling moth: influence of temperature and daylight intensity on periodicity of daily flight in the field. Journal of Economic Entomology 66(4): 883-892

During orchard studies in California on the effect of temperature and light intensity on the periodicity of the daily flight of adults of Cydia (Laspeyresia) pomonella (L.), timed collections were made from sex-pheromone traps at San Jose during 1969 and 1971 and from sex-pheromone and ultraviolet-light traps at Placerville in 1971. The rhythmic periodicity of mating flight appeared to be circadian, being entrained by photoperiod.
